Age of Wonders 3 came out in 2014 so it has been around for a while but is a modern classic. Back then it was hailed as the best game no-one played so it was a bit of a 'sleeper'. I'd suggest that you play ROGUE, ARCH-DRUID, and NECROMANCER once you are more familiar with the game as these classes have twists to the way they play and can have a weaker start than others.Īge of Wonders III is my favourite all-time strategy game and the Age of Wonders series has been my favourite series since version one first came out in 1999.

Other combinations that are fairly intuitive to play are DWARF DREADNAUT, HUMAN THEOCRAT, and HIGH-ELF SORCERER. For new players it is beat to keep things simple so I highly recommend you start as an ORC WARLORD. Some combinations work more naturally while other combinations can be a surprise.
